A series of eight children books called “It’s a Wild Life, Buddy!” have been translated into Japanese by Princess Akishino of Japan. The orginial books were authored by Vicky Egan, illustrated by Daniela De Luca and published by McRae in 2005. The publishing house of Shinjusha released the first two books in the series, "Biibaa no Ben" (Ben the Beaver) and "Okami no Erikku" (Eric the Wolf) on October 23rd. “Chikyu no Nakamatachi” (Friends of the world) is the Japanese title for the series. The other six books will be released by the end of next year. Shinjusha’s president, Tokuichi Sawachika, made a statement regarding Kiko’s translation and said, "Princess Kiko put in a lot of hard work to produce these wonderful books. As an editor, I'm confident they'll do well."
