Amidst the glittering spectacle and elegant dress, one particular royal missed the proceedings of the yearly Nobel Prize ceremony in Sweden on December 10th. Ninety-two year old Princess Lilian did not appear at the ceremony or banquet. It was deemed that it would be difficult for her to withstand the long event. Last year, Lilian attended the prize presentation, but shunned the banquet. She had been a part of the royal family presence since 1976. According to a royal spokesperson, “the Princess is an elderly lady."
