Spanish Riding School Performs for Queen Beatrix

Once a year, the breathtaking beauty and the exacting horsemanship of the Lipizzaner breed tour outside Vienna, home of the famous Spanish Riding School. The elite riding school was founded in 1572. Despite wars and upheavals, the school has been associated with royalty for over 400 years.

This year’s tour performed in the Netherlands. The incomparable riding school last visited the Netherlands in 1985 and 2001.

Embracing a favourite pastime, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands appeared at the première of the Spanish Riding School at the Ahoy Theater in Rotterdam on Friday.
