After his meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan today in Aqaba, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a statement to Jordan Television and said that the conversation “centered on the outcome” regarding the forthcoming meetings with the Israeli Prime Minister, President Bush and the coordination of “Palestinian and Jordanian stands regarding future negotiations with Israel.” According to President Abbas, the Israeli settlement policy could hamper the peace process if it not surceased.
