Whilst her royal counterparts, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, enjoyed the excitement and glamour of the Beijing Olympics, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark opted for a more sedate holiday at the family’s home in France the Château de Cayx. During her annual interview on the estate, she gushed about her rare opportunity to shop in the local marketplace and said, “the market has the most delicious things to buy.” In the meantime, Prince Henrik is taking the time to relax and recuperate from a recent shoulder surgery.
