Prince Akishino Declared Crown Prince of Japan
Prince Akishino was declared the Imperial Heir, Crown Prince in the Ceremonies for Proclamation of Crown Prince on November 8th. He is second in line to the throne after his brother, Emperor Naruhito. Crown Prince Akishino's son, Prince Hisahito, is third in line.

Prince Hisahito Adorned in Crane Motif for Portraits
Emperor Akihito’s only grandson is now three. In honour of his birthday, the Imperial Household Agency presented photographs of little Hisahito on a tricycle and costumed in a kimono embroidered with cranes. Besides the photographs, Hisahito’s activities and physical well-being were disclosed in a press statement. He is 94 centimeters (3 ft.) in height and weighs 13.6 kilograms (30 lbs.). Prince Hisahito likes to play ball and ride his tricycle. He has been given several affectionate nicknames by his parents. They call him Yuyu, Yu-chan and Hisahito-kun. Some of his accomplishments include feeding and dressing himself and speaking politely to his elders.

Prince Hisahito Celebrates His Second Birthday


The Imperial Household Agency has released new photos of Prince Hisahito this week. The little prince turned two years old today. He is second in line to the throne after his uncle, Crown Prince Naruhito.

Japan's Prince Hisahito Relaxes with Family at Imperial Ranch
Prince Akishino, Princess Kiko and their three children arrived in Takanezawa yesterday for some respite at the imperial ranch. Back in January, Prince Hisahito amused his grandfather, Emperor Akihito, during a photo opportunity when he entertained the family with his block building and wooden toy animals.

Prince Hisahito Amuses Japan’s Emperor with Antics
In the wake of the New Year, the Imperial Household Agency released some photographs and video footage of Emperor Akihito of Japan and his family. Princess Kiko attempted to keep her son, one-year-old Prince Hisahito, entertained during the photo session, but he was inclined to be lively which kept the family smiling and laughing at his antics.

First Birthday for Prince Hisahito
Yesterday, Prince Hisahito of Japan celebrated his first birthday. The Imperial Household released photos of Hisahito interacting with his family, Prince Akishino, Princess Kiko, Princess Mako and Princess Kako. The adorable toddler displayed a winsome smile while posing for the cameras.
Since his birth, the Japanese Diet has decided not to change the law of agnatic succession which does not allow Princess Aiko to succeed her father. Little Hisahito is the next heir to the Chrysanthemum Throne after his uncle, Crown Prince Naruhito.
