Royal Children Return to School

It seems that the summer months just breezed by this year and already the royal children are returning to their schools and studies. Keeping it stylishly simple in a gray sweater and white slacks, Belgian's Princess Mathilde, accompanied by Prince Philippe ushered their children back to school on September 1st. Besides Elisabeth and Gabriel returning to the routine of classes, their younger brother, Prince Emmanuel joined them for his first day of school.

Last month, Prince Felix of Denmark joined his brother, Prince Nikolai, at Krebs School for the first time. He was taken to school by his mother, Countess Alexandra and his step-father, Martin Jørgensen where his father, Prince Joachim, was waiting to greet him on his first day of classes.

As the school year goes into full swing, some fashion advice was offered by Crown Princess Pavlos of Greece who urged mothers to keep their attire low maintenance and have a stylish coat on hand which can spruce up their appearance.

Marie Cavallier Weds Her Danish Prince

When Marie Agathe Odile Cavallier emerged from the car in a cloud of tulle and lace, the scene was breathtaking. Her wedding gown was designed by Spaniard David Arasa and Italian Claudio Morelli of the Geneva-based designer house Arasa Morelli. The underlining was made from ivory silk faille. The wedding gown's train was three metres long and the bridal veil was fastened in place by Princess Dagmar’s diadem. Princess Dagmar was the daughter of King Frederik VIII and Queen Louise. The diadem was given to Queen Margrethe II by her parents King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid. The bride carried a bouquet of lilies and roses designed by Jan Munch. According to the Danish Monarchy website, the lilies were in acknowledgement to the late Queen Ingrid who carried lilies in her wedding bouquet when she wedded King Frederik IX on May 24, 1935.

As his beautiful bride came down the aisle, Prince Joachim was overcome with emotion and bent down to hug his two sons, Nikolai and Felix, who were also his supporters. As Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway observed the exchange between the princes, it evoked some tears from her, as well. During Bishop Erik Norman Svendsen's mini sermon, five-year-old Prince Felix decided it was time to take a little nap.

As for the minute details, the wedding bands exchanged between the couple were 18 karat gold. The bride’s diamond earrings were from Geneva.

For the transport back to Schackenborg Slot, Prince Joachim did not take his bride in a carriage, but rather a Bugatti Type 41 automobile. The Danish Monarchy has now listed the profile of Her Royal Highness Princess Marie which can be read here.

Video clips from the wedding ceremony can be viewed here.

Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg Initiates New Website

In spite of Alexandra's divorce in April 2005 from Prince Joachim of Denmark, second son of Queen Margrethe II, the queen granted her former daughter-in-law the title, countess of Frederiksborg. Alexandra's profile was removed from the Danish Royal House website when she married photographer Martin Jørgensen on March 3, 2007, though, she is still mentioned in the profiles of Prince Joachim and sons Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix. Since the changes, the effervescent countess has initiated a new website. On December 19th, Alexandra will present the awards for the Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra Fund alongside her former husband.
