Emperor Akihito’s only grandson is now three. In honour of his birthday, the Imperial Household Agency presented photographs of little Hisahito on a tricycle and costumed in a kimono embroidered with cranes. Besides the photographs, Hisahito’s activities and physical well-being were disclosed in a press statement. He is 94 centimeters (3 ft.) in height and weighs 13.6 kilograms (30 lbs.). Prince Hisahito likes to play ball and ride his tricycle. He has been given several affectionate nicknames by his parents. They call him Yuyu, Yu-chan and Hisahito-kun. Some of his accomplishments include feeding and dressing himself and speaking politely to his elders.
