The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were caught in the crossfire of a student protest revolving around raised university tuition whilst on their way to a theatre engagement. The BBC reported that the Rolls-Royce bearing the royals was pelted with paint and one of windows was cracked by a violent group of protestors.
Clarence House Press Office confirmed the attack on the royal car by protestors. Charles and Camilla were headed to the London Palladium Theatre for a Royal Variety Performance in aid of the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund.
The royal couple emerged unscathed from the incident.
