The wedding gown was designed by Sarah Burton. The designer used ivory and white satin gazar for the fabric. Carrickmacross, English, French Chantilly and Cluny lace designs were incorporated onto the bodice, skirt and underskirt. The train length measured two metres 70 centimetres. Ivory silk tulle veiled Catherine’s face. Her Cartier scroll tiara was on loan from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection. It formerly belonged to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
Catherine Middleton’s modest flower bouquet had myrtle, lily-of-the-valley, sweet William and hyacinth. Her diamond earrings were fashioned into an acorn and oak leaf design.
