Prince Umberto of Savoy, son of Prince Aimone and Princess Olga, was christened on Saturday, July 18th at the Chiesa di S. Antonio Abate in Giuggianello (Lecce). Don Alessandro di Borbone Due Sicilie presided over the baptism.
His godparents are Princess M. Gabriella of Savoy and Count Carlo Radicati di Primeglio.

Prince Amedeo Bestows Title on Grandson
Prince Amedeo of Savoy has bestowed the title Principe di Piemonte to his grandson, Umberto, who was born on March 7th in Paris to Aimone and Olga. The prince made the announcement via his website today.

The House of Savoy website announced today the birth of a son to Prince Aimone and Princess Olga of Savoy in Paris. No other details have been released.

Princess Olga Expects Baby in the Spring
Prince Aimone and Princess Olga will be welcoming an addition to their family in April 2009. The couple wedded last month in Russia and Patmos. This child will be the ninth grandchild for Aimone’s father, Prince Amedeo and the third grandchild for Olga’s father, Prince Michael of Greece.

Aimone and Olga Exchange Wedding Vows
Prince Aimone of Savoy and Princess Olga of Greece officialized their marriage this month. The civil marriage vows were exchanged at the Italian Embassy in Moscow on September 16th whilst the religious wedding ceremony was performed on the Isle of Patmos on September 27th. The Patriarchal Exarch of Patmos, Archimandrite Andipas Nikitaras, officiated over the nupitials.
For royal watchers, it has been a long wait since the couple announced their engagement in May, 2005. Photos from the September 27th wedding ceremony can be viewed here.
