Prince Kardam Suffers Traumatic Injuries from Automobile Wreck

Prince Kardam, eldest son of King Simeon II, suffered traumatic injuries when his Jaguar careened off the road and smashed into a tree yesterday afternoon. The vehicle upon impact with the tree overturned landing on its roof. The accident happened on the N-1 expressway outside of Madrid.

His wife, Princess Miriam, was in the vehicle when the accident occurred and sustained moderate injuries including a broken elbow and bruises. She is being treated at Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid. Prince Kardam was not as fortunate. His injuries were far more devastating. He was taken to the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in Madrid for treatment of head and hand injuries. He remains in critical condition.

Simeon Hassan Baptised at Tsarska Bistritsa

Named after his grandfather, King Simeon II and the late King Hassan II of Morocco, Simeon Hassan was baptised at Tsarska Bistritsa today. Last month, he celebrated his first birthday. His godparents are Princess Irene of Greece (sister of Queen Sofía of Spain) and King Simeon II. Evlogii, Father Superior of the Rila Monastery, presided over the christening.

Simeon Hassan Celebrates His First Birthday

Simeon Hassan, son of Princess Kalina and Kitin Muñoz celebrated his first birthday on March 14th. A photo session was held at Tsarska Bistritsa in honour of his milestone.

Bulgaria’s Princess Kalina Bears a Son

On March 14th, Princess Kalina bore a son by Caesarean section at 7:07 am at Lozenets Hospital in Sofia, Bulgaria. He weighed 2,626 kilos (5.8 lbs) and his length was 49 centimetres (19.30 in.) He is the 11th grandchild of exiled Bulgarian King Simeon II and his wife, Margarita. The baby was named Simeon Hassan.
