Denmark’s Newest Princess Leaves Hospital

BREAKING NEWS: Joachim and Marie Have a Princess

Princess Marie gave birth to a girl at 8:27 am (local time) today at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark. The little princess weighed 2930 grams (6.45 lbs) and her length was 49 cm (19.29 in.).

With this latest birth announcement from her younger son Prince Joachim, Queen Margrethe II has now eight grandchildren.

Princess Marie To Have Second Child

Prince Joachim and Prince Marie of Denmark announced today that a second baby is on the way. The little one is due in late January 2012.

BREAKING NEWS: Prince Frederik Welcomes Twins

At 10:30 am (local time) today, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark welcomed a son. The little prince weighed 2674 grams (5.89 lbs) and he measured at 47 cm (18.50 in.). His twin sister was born at 10:56 am (local time). She weighed 2554 grams (5.63 lbs) with her length measuring at 46 cm (18.11 in.).

The children were delivered at Righospitalet in Copenhagen.

Queen Margrethe II has now seven grandchildren.

Prince Joachim Takes Son Home

Princess Marie’s face radiated joy as press photographers snapped the first photos of the newborn prince as they left the Rigshospitalet today. The little prince was born on Monday. His names will not be announced until his christening ceremony.

Princess Marie Bares a Son

Princess Marie of Denmark gave birth to a son at 4:57 this morning in the Rigshospitalet. The little prince weighed 3032 grams (6.7 lbs.) and measured at 49 cm (19.3 in.). According to the statement from the Kongehuset, mother and son are doing well. He is the first child for Princess Marie, the third son for Prince Joachim and the fifth grandchild for Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark.

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie Expecting First Child

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark have announced today that they are expecting their first child in early May 2009. According to the Danish Monarchy website, the delivery will take place at the Rigshospitalet. This child will be the fifth grandchild for Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark.
