Baby Prince Named George

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced today the names of their newborn son. His names are George Alexander Louis. He will be known by His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

LATEST NEWS: Catherine Gives Birth To A Prince

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a prince at 4:24 pm (local time).  The boy weighed 8lbs and 6oz. Catherine will remain at St. Mary’s Hospital overnight.

The prince is the third great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth II.

BREAKING NEWS: Zara Tindall Announces Pregnancy

Zara Tindall is expecting her first child. The announcement was made on the British Monarchy website today.

The baby will be Princess Anne’s third grandchild.

Princess Aimée Has a Son

Princess Aimée gave birth to a son at Ziekenhuis Bronovo today at 1:32 pm (local time). He weighed 3650 grams. His full name is Willem Jan Johannes Pieter Floris van Vollenhoven.  He will go by the name Willem Jan.

Willem Jan is the fifth grandson and 11^th grandchild for Princess Margriet of the Netherlands.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s Baby Due in July

The Duchess of Cambridge’s baby is due to arrive in July. It was announced by the royal couple this morning on the Prince of Wales website.

Along with the announcement of the royal baby’s due date, the statement mentioned that the duchess’s health has improved since her short hospital stay the previous month to treat her acute morning sickness at King Edward VII Hospital in Central London.

Princess Aimée Expecting Third Child

Princess Aimée and Prince Floris announced today that they expect a third child in July. They have two daughters named Magali and Eliane. This child will be the 11^th grandchild for Princess Margriet of the Netherlands.

BREAKING NEWS: The Duchess of Cambridge in Hospital for Acute Morning Sickness

Prince William announced today that his wife is expecting a child. Whilst the joyous news was being released, Catherine was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London this afternoon. She is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her medical treatment requires supplementary hydration, nutrients and plenty of rest.

The Prince of Wales website is temporarily unavailable due to the extraordinary amount of attention to the baby news.

Princess Madeleine Engaged to Christopher O’Neill

The Swedish Royal Court announced today the engagement of Princess Madeleine to Christopher O’Neill.

The wedding is planned for the summer of 2013.

Princess Marie To Have Second Child

Prince Joachim and Prince Marie of Denmark announced today that a second baby is on the way. The little one is due in late January 2012.

Crown Princess Victoria Announces Pregnancy

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel announced today that they are expecting their first child.

Clarence House Announces Prince William’s Engagement

Perseverance prevails for Catherine Middleton! Clarence House issued the official engagement announcement of Prince William this morning. Below is the press statement from the Prince of Wales.

The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.
The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
Prince William and Miss Middleton became engaged in October during a private holiday in Kenya.
Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton’s father.
Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.

Prince Albert Sets Wedding Date

Monaco’s Prince Albert will wed Charlene Wittstock in a civil ceremony at the Princely Palace of Monaco on July 8, 2011. The religious wedding ceremony will transpire the following day. The official announcement can be read here.

Princess Anne to Become a Grandmother

The Princess Royal’s son, Peter Phillips, will become a father in December. Buckingham Palace confirmed the news by passing on the following statement: “Peter and Autumn Phillips are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in December. 'The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh as well as Autumn's family have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

Peter’s child will be the first great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth II.

Princess Madeleine Engaged to Jonas Bergström

The Swedish Royal Court website announced today the engagement of Princess Madeleine to Mr. Jonas Bergström.

Below is the statement released from the Swedish Royal Court.

"Today, Tuesday 11 August 2009, the engagement between Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine and Mr. Jonas Bergström was announced."

"After His Majesty The King of Sweden had given his consent to the marriage between the Princess and Mr. Bergström, His Majesty, in accordance with the procedures set out in the Swedish Constitution, requested the approval by the Swedish Government, which subsequently has been communicated to His Majesty."

"The wedding date is not decided."

A photographic opportunity is being offered to the media this afternoon at four o’clock (local time); the couple will be at Solliden Palace. The press will be permitted to ask a few questions, but it will not be a traditional press conference.

Victoria and Daniel Will Wed in 2010

The Swedish Royal Family officially announced today the engagement of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Daniel Westling. The couple will wed in the early summer of 2010. King Carl XVI Gustaf and his wife, Queen Silvia, appeared with their daughter and her fiancé in a video broadcast to convey their happiness over the engagement announcement. The king said it was special day for them and also for Sweden whilst the queen said that Daniel would make a wonderful husband for her daughter.Daniel met Victoria in 2002 and embarked on a seven-year courtship with the princess before asking for her hand in marriage and receiving consent from the king and the Swedish government. Upon his marriage to Princess Victoria, Daniel will be known forthwith as Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland.

Princess Aimée Expecting Second Child

Princess Aimée, wife of Prince Floris, is expecting her second child in early July 2009. This child will be the tenth grandchild for Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and prof. mr. Pieter van Vollenhoven.

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie Expecting First Child

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark have announced today that they are expecting their first child in early May 2009. According to the Danish Monarchy website, the delivery will take place at the Rigshospitalet. This child will be the fifth grandchild for Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark.

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway Is Pregnant with Third Child

The Kongehuset website has released the following announcement today.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen are pleased to announce that Her Highness Princess Märtha Louise and Mr Ari Behn are expecting their third child. The baby is due to be born sometime in mid-October 2008.”

Märtha Louise’s baby will be the fifth grandchild for King Harald and Queen Sonja. They have four grandchildren: Princess Ingrid Alexandra (4), Prince Sverre Magnus (2), Maud Angelica (4) and Leah Isadora (2).
